Europe Calling e.V. hosted this discussion together with NewClimate Institute, which explored how international climate policy could support foreign policy objectives and help position Germany and Europe as credible global partners in the green transition.
The discussion was based on our recent work, which analyzed the realignment of Germany’s foreign trade and climate policy and presented concrete proposals for integrated policy action.
We were pleased to welcome experts from two major political foundations, closely affiliated with the SPD and Bündnis 90/Die Grünen. Both foundations played an active role in shaping party positions and brought valuable perspectives from government and opposition.
Speakers include:
- Study authors: Lukas Kahlen and Ines Paiva from NewClimate Institute
- Claudia Detsch, Head of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation’s Competence Centre for Climate and Social Justice
- Dr. Imme Scholz, Member of the Executive Board of the Heinrich Böll Foundation
Moderator:
- Maximilian Fries, Managing Director, Europe Calling e.V.
Event language: With professional interpretation in German and English.
